I booked Chettle Lodge for my wedding (at Larmer Tree) as I could accommodate all of my immediate family and Ushers in one building. I initially found the lodge on Airbnb but found going directly to their website cut out some of the Airbnb fees. Katy was the point of contact and was always at hand to answer my questions in the run up to us staying. Check in was easy and the pack of information was very useful. The house was clean, tidy and absolutely perfect for my family and friends. It comfortably hosted 18 of us and we had the absolute best time using the bar and having a wonderful sit down meal in the huge dining room. The hosts also very kindly made us a Lemon Drizzle cake, which was a lovely touch. The house was the perfect space to get ready for the wedding and it was only an 8 min drive from the venue!
One of the best places I have stayed in with a group and I would highly recommend anyone getting married at Larmer Tree using this wonderful house!

We stayed at Chettle Lodge for my 30th birthday and had the most incredible time! The pictures of the house do not do it justice at all, it was fantastic in every way. The house has everything you could need and more. Cannot wait to return.

We booked Chettle Lodge for our best friends hen do. Needless to say it was the perfect setting, the bedrooms specifically were gorgeous with an en suite for all our guests there was no 3 hour queues for showers! The dining / kitchen / bar area is also incredible! The perfect place for drinking & socialising. The biggest praise to Katy who went above and beyond in the lead up to our stay providing me with all the info we needed. And even after our stay realising I’d left clothes in the wardrobe has been nothing but accommodating, helpful and responsive!
The only slight unexpected was the water damage in one of the main bedrooms which we weren’t expecting but no harm done and did not ‘dampen’ our weekend in the slightest.

Went for a work away day/night and had an incredible time. Katy was an incredible host and the lodge itself was gorgeous and very well equipped. The beds are some of the most comfortable I have ever experienced, and relaxing in the lounge in front of the fire in the event was a treat! Highly recommend!

Chettle Lodge is a beautiful place for gatherings of all kinds. I arranged a booking (venue and accommodation) for my client's team away day (2 days, 1 night). The welcome from the team was incredibly warm, and we could not have been happier with the venue. From a working perspective, the wifi was fast, the coffee was strong, and they had all the tech/ kit we needed to run a great workshop.
The Chettle Lodge team was totally on it, and nothing was too much trouble. They laid on a delicious selection of food and drink to keep us going throughout the day, much of it courtesy of the famous Chettle Village Store.
Importantly, I'm told everyone slept soundly thanks to the fresh air, roaring fires, quiet rural location (-apart from the owls!) and wonderfully comfy beds. Highly recommend.

We have just spent the most amazing weekend at Chettle Lodge. 18 family members, aged from 6 weeks to 80, relaxed and had a lot of fun at this charming, comfy country home. We did our own catering and found the kitchen very well equipped for our needs. We also appreciated the kind, thoughtful 'goodies' left for us to enjoy, including fresh flowers in the kitchen - a delightful bright touch. The family enjoyed all the outside games provided and, indoors, they participated in several of the many board games found in a chest of drawers. A lovely house with space for everyone to do their own thing yet feel together as a family! Bedrooms (all en suite) were mostly vast and all were very comfortable. The village is delightful and we had a couple of walks in the beautiful countryside around - and the shop is amazing!! For our large family celebration Chettle Lodge was perfect!!

We stayed here for a family holiday for a few days. The building itself was nice enough, a variety of decor throughout, and the kitchen in particular is very modern and well appointed.
Not sure what it would be like to hear in winter.
Perhaps the only gripe were the showers on the top floor not really ever getting hot enough, but that might also be a matter of personal taste

An amazing building which made the perfect place to celebrate a special birthday with a group of friends. The building is very old and so naturally has a few creases and bumps but is welcoming, comfortable and clean. It is so spacious that we could gather as a big group or find a quiet corner for peace and quiet. There is an abundance of equipment, crockery and glasses. The grounds are extensive and the village store just a stroll away. Staff were very welcoming and responded very quickly to solve a minor problem.

We've just celebrated my friend's hen party at Chettle Lodge over the bank holiday weekend and it was amazing! Beautiful house, beautiful location, extremely helpful hosts, perfect setting for a murder mystery and fun games. Loads of fun memories made. The rooms are all generous in size, plenty of parking, huge garden, a bar..... I'm looking forward to booking another visit!

As a party of 13, finding suitable accommodation is tricky but have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at Chettle Lodge. Katy was incredibly helpful both before we arrived, advising on walks and during when one room had no hot water. This was dealt with immediately and rectified. We found the house warm and comfortable, well equipped and beds comfortable! Thank you
